Web Architect (Job Code Web12)

Responsibilities

*Design architecture of client side interface and integration
*Design highly accessible, high performing web business applications and high volume web sites
*Work across multiple projects and systems to develop, communicate, and mentor others on web design and implementation standards, guidelines, best practices
*Research latest web e-commerce practices, technologies, trends, framework libraries
*Collaborating with business leaders to determine how to best use technology to enable their growth and success
*Providing web architecture leadership to the organization
*Ensuring architectural compliance of web solutions and introducing recommendations for changes to reference models when needed
*Assisting in reuse, build, buy decisions
*Developing and communicating best practice ideas and research
*Leading detailed design and code reviews
*Participating in proofs of concept and proofs of technology

Qualifications

*Minimum of 5 years of professional experience building high traffic Rich Internet Web Applications
*Deep knowledge and hands on experience with XHTML/HTML, DHTML, XSLT, DOM, AJAX, JSON, JavaScript, JavaScript libraries, jQuery, YUI, Google Web ToolKit, etc.
*Knowledge of the latest open standards such as CSS3 and HTML5
*Knowledge of top Browser specifications and cross browser implementations
*Knowledge of OO concepts (PHP, Python, Ruby, PERL)
*Great sense of integration design, page-less design, usability, and user experience
*Significant experience in web analytics technologies and tools
*Understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) concepts
*Extensive understanding of web standards and compliance (W3C, 508, etc)
*Knowledge and experience in web performance optimization
*Knowledge of IIS and/or Apache web servers
*Understanding of web security vulnerabilities
*Knowledge of CMS and content management strategies
*Are willing to make, openly debate and defend solution recommendations on component coupling and cohesion, interface design, component models, implementation technologies, and architectural reference models and patterns
*Have very broad knowledge of systems in areas that include: programming environments such as Java Enterprise Edition, Microsoft .NET, or predecessors; team programming behaviors such as source code management, builds, and testing; database managements systems (relational, hierarchical and or network models) and their related querying languages; distributed transaction management; distributed systems architecture (remoting, clustering and failover, implications on interface designs); fundamentals of programming style; operating systems; and networking
*Have the verbal and written communication skills to effectively share what they know
*Are able to lead and direct those who may not have the same experience and who may disagree with them
